Understanding How Dental Insurance Works
Preventive dentistry is considered the cornerstone of oral healthcare, which is why so many dental insurance companies emphasize its services among policyholders. These treatments lower the risk of serious injury or infection, minimizing the chances that you’ll need restorative or emergency care in the future. However, many insurers also understand that assisting with restorative care is also necessary, as these problems can become a medical necessity. When looking at your plan, you’ll discover your benefits include coverage for preventive and restorative services, not cosmetic, as these are considered “electives.”
What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers
Once a member of our team can review your plan and its benefits, we can determine what it will cover and how much your out-of-pocket expenses will be. The normal dental insurance plan looks something like the following:
